Phillips Tax Service was founded in 1975 by Pat Phillips. The company was operated as a family business with Pat's husband "Whitey" also working there during the busy tax seasons.

Pat's philosophy of diligence, integrity and compassion has become the motto of Phillips Tax Service.

Pat & Whitey’s daughter Peg graduated from the University of Illinois with high honors in accounting and passed the CPA exam in 1989. She was employed by Arthur Andersen for several years until moving back to Pekin to join her family's business.

Peg is a Diamond Level Certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor. In addition to the ProAdvisor certification, she has passed the Advanced and Online exams.

Peg is also a writer and editor for the University of Illinois Tax School. Each year the Tax School develops and publishes the University of Illinois Federal Tax Workbook for use in continuing education seminars designed for tax practitioners. Peg has been writing for the program since 2003.
